Spectroscopy is one of those topics where having a cheat sheet is a must! So, we thought we’d put together a few spectroscopy cheat sheets devoted to the:
- infrared spectroscopy (IR),
- hydrogen and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and
- mass-spectrometry (mass spec)
In these, we’ll go over the important values for the corresponding shifts and stretches. You would want to if not remember, be at least comfortable with those. we’ll also go over the general idea of how to approach the spectroscopy questions. As it is a work in progress, we’ll upload some more pics at a later time as they become available. We’re also currently working on the spectroscopy tutorial that will be available later this semester, so keep tuned!
For now, here’s the
Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) cheat sheets
Mass spectrometry cheat sheet:
The NMR cheat sheet and summary notes
–is a 5-page collection containing the description of the technique, types of information obtained from the NMR spectrum, and approaches to the spectrum analysis.
We also have a 2-page handout on CNMR:
